Publisher's Synopsis
The author is former Chief Inspector of Historic Buildings at Historic Scotland, academic and author of many books on Scottish architecture and industrial history published over the last decade. This series of six volumes using his own photographs, in black and white and in colour, evolved from a lecture given in 2014 for the Scotland's Churches Trust. This is the fourth volume in the series and is the second to deal with the very busy nineteenth century. As with the other volumes in the series each photograph is carefully captioned with two or three sentences of background information of where the church is located, when it was built, the name of the architect, and other salient information.
