You are well aware that it was my original purpose to have assembled you for my Primary Visitation towards the close of the last winter, very soon after my arrival among you. But upon more mature consideration, I determined to defer it until I had obtained some acquaintance with your spheres of ministerial, duty, and had also gained some insight into the Indian charac ter, and formed some idea of the prospects of the Church throughout this land.
