They have never been to Killcree House since her marriage to wealthy Mike Byrne and she is keen to show off her new home. As well as that, her mum will be celebrating her 50th birthday and she intends throwing a surprise dinner party. She hopes this will heal the rift between her mother and her middle sister, Charlotte. Charlotte and her mother have had a falling out when her mother learns that Charlotte, who lives in London, is having an affair with a married man.Jennifer is also scheming to make a match between her shy little sister Brownie and the local vet, Shane Phillips.Her plans for a family Christmas are thrown into disarray by the arrival of her eccentric aunt Kitt, and by her husband Mike informing her that his brother Jack, who she doesn't like, will also be a guest.Jennifer has her own demons to confront in the shape of her neighbour, the glamorous Cathy, who Mike seems to be seeing a good deal of these days.Jennifer has a lot to wish for this Christmas and she is none too sure that any of it will come to fruition.
