Publisher's Synopsis

A Lullaby for Toby is my new coming-of-age YA novel for teenagers 15 to 17. As seen through the eyes of the main character, Robin Steele, the story follows the high school senior as he tries to achieve two big goals: getting into college and being selected to solo in his high school choir, both of which become a lot more difficult when his little sister, Toby, disappears while they are on a family vacation in Maine.

To add to his confusion, Robin meets a beautiful girl on the beach the day Toby disappears. But how can a guy think about romance when his little sister has just gone missing?

As the day's pass and Robin starts his senior year, he is increasingly plagued by questions about his own responsibility for Toby's disappearance. What happened, and whose fault was it? Sometimes he hears his sister's voice asking him to "look" at something. It's the last words; he remembers her saying to him before he fell asleep on the island.

A Lullaby for Toby is a character centered, family drama, about a teenage boy facing his first major life crisis, and the impact of that crisis on his family. Robin's story plays out over a period of 8 weeks in Maine and Seattle.
