From 1989 to 1991, the Virginia Department of Conservation and recreation's Division of Natural Heritage conducted an inventory for "Natural Heritage Resources" in and near eight Mid-Atlantic Region national parks: Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, George Washington Birthplace national Monument, Petersburg national Battlefield, Richmond National Battlefield Park, and Shenandoah National Park. This report presents a brief summary of the inventory methods and results.
