A crown of sonnets is defined as a sequence of sonnets, usually addressed to one person, and/or concerned with a single theme. Each of the sonnets explores one aspect of the theme, and is linked to the preceding and succeeding sonnets by repeating the final line of the preceding sonnet as its first line. Andrew R. Jones has chosen to use the Elizabethan style of sonnet writing and has themed his crown based on the lives and struggles of military veterans as well as their families. Flanked on each side of the crown are opinionated essays. These are his raw and real thoughts and if they, at the very least, cause you to think, then he has succeeded. It is his intention to open your eyes and it is his hope you will stand with him as he embarks on a journey to make much needed changes within society as a whole.
