Being a firefighter is an exciting, but important job. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes. He introduces the equipment found on the fire truck and the firefighters' protective gear, and he journeys with the fire department as the fire crew responds to an emergency and rescues a boy from a home. He finishes with the firefighters cleaning up the scene and returning to the station where they are always ready for the next emergency. A Work Day the Firefighter Way teaches critical and potentially lifesaving lessons. Children learn the importance of what to do if they find themselves in an emergency, like calling 9-1-1, getting out and staying out, and not playing with matches.
