Publisher's Synopsis
Martin Clunes stars as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in this three-part ITV drama series. In 1906, shortly after the death of his first wife Louisa Hawkins (Geraldine Alexander), the creator of Sherlock Holmes is called upon to begin his own investigation when half-Indian solicitor George Edalji (Arsher Ali) is convicted of a crime he did not commit. When George is found guilty of injuring livestock he asks Arthur's assistance in proving his innocence. Although he is at first convinced by George's story, Arthur soon begins to doubt his initial instincts and must solve the case to determine whether George has really been the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
