English Summary: Two of the key characteristics of philosophical spirituality in late antiquity were a special interest in hierarchies and rituals. This included, on the one hand, ever increasing levels of metaphysical ontology, which were also seen as a hierarchy of divine or demonic beings, and on the other the discussion of cult practices and their increasingly intensive application. These two aspects are connected by notions of a gradual descent and ascent of the soul, as well as by encounters with the various classes of higher beings in the context of theurgical rituals - thus resulting in the notion that the perfect philosopher is also the perfect theurgist. This volume examines such phenomena on the basis of the Chaldean Oracles, Hermetism, Gnosticism and Middle and Neoplatonic authors. It also makes reference to Christian perspectives from antiquity and the early modern period, as well as to the socio-cultural context. German Description:: Zu den Charakteristika philosophischer Spiritualitat in der Spatantike gehort das besondere Interesse sowohl fur Hierarchien als auch fur Rituale. Dazu zahlen einerseits sich stetig vervielfachende Stufen einer metaphysischen Ontologie, die zugleich als Hierarchie gottlicher oder auch damonischer Wesen gefasst wird, andererseits nicht nur die Diskussion uber Kultpraktiken, sondern auch deren intensivierte Ausubung. Vorstellungen eines stufenweisen Ab- und Aufstiegs der Seele sowie der Begegnung mit den unterschiedlichen Klassen hoherer Wesen im Rahmen theurgischer Rituale verbinden diese beiden Aspekte; so kann sich schliesslich der Gedanke entwickeln, der vollkommene Philosoph sei der vollkommene Theurg. Der vorliegende Band nimmt derartige Phanomene anhand der Chaldaeischen Orakel, des Hermetismus, der Gnosis sowie mittel- und neuplatonischer Autoren in den Blick und nimmt dabei auch Bezug auf christliche Perspektiven aus der Antike und der fruhen Neuzeit sowie auf den soziokulturellen Hintergrund.
