Avirae Marel is a hunter of preternatural creatures, but her job description goes beyond just cuffing non-human baddies. The severity of the crimes pits the city's preternaturals against each other, explodes in the media, and strongly impacts the government's determination to tighten their laws on non-human creatures. Avirae's investigation will not only put her life at risk, it will also lead her to discover a shocking truth about the death of her fiance. And no amount of tension and crime can stop Raven from trying to get Avirae to admit that she wants him as much as he wants her.
