The author has based her research on the experiences of 100 journalists of Asian and African-Caribbean descent working in all sectors of the media - newspapers and magazines, television and radio. The book links the under-representation of black journalists in the white media to discrimination, direct and indirect, and demonstrates the weakeness of the media unions in putting equal oppurtunities policies and positive action into practice.
