Publisher's Synopsis
Blackie and Blacktail is a story of two lambs who become inseparable companions. Through their adventures they meet Monarch, a kindly and wise stag who outsmarts the hunt, they walk along perilous clifftops, descend into new valleys and try to avoid the annual sheep deep. They are caught several times by their shepherds but the urge to roam is always with them. Even when they are separated they pine for one another until they are eventually reunited. Danger knows no boundaries as Blacktail is swept away by a torrent of flood water but is recused and they witness the effect a moorland fire has on wildlife and the fright of being chased by a mad dog and challenged by a hungry fox. Eventually Blackie and Blacktail become parents and have a family of their of their own.
