It is designed to be used in conjunction with "An Introduction to Ancient Philosophy", also by R. James Hankinson to which it is keyed by a simple and comprehensive system of reference. Used on its own, it is a useful teaching anthology to classical Greek philosophy - the texts themselves being linked by a brief commentary analysing their contents and relating them one to another.
