Publisher's Synopsis

'Cairo Mon Amour' is an espionage thriller/romance set in Egypt during the 1973 Yom Kippur war. The espionage element revolves around the Egyptian government's secret plan to attack Sinai to regain the land they list in the 1967 Six-Day War. The romance element is played out through two couples: Lucy Vickers and Mark Bellamy, former lovers who are retained by a shadowy arm of the British Government to carry out occasional secret missions in the Middle East; and Pierre Farag, an Armenian-Egyptian private eye, and his childhood sweetheart Zouzou Paris, a notorious film actress. The story places the two couples at the heart of a plot by an Egyptian double agent and a Soviet diplomat to trade the details of the attack date for the chance to defect to the U.K.
