It also contains a variety of interactive demonstrations of mathematical concepts; investigation and research activities; geometry exercises and MS Excel spreadsheet problems. These additional student activities can be launched from icons on the page of the electronic text, ensuring that the association with the text activity is immediate. The activities have been written to the New South Wales 2004 Mathematics Syllabus. • The Excel spreadsheet activities can be done on-line or on hard copy. Each activity comes with a HELP sheet that provides students with hints about solving the problem. • The interactive demonstrations provide students with opportunities to observe and manipulate mathematical concepts. • The investigation and research activities ask students to research various elements of mathematical study.
