BT and the Department of the Environment have formulated a strategy intended to help the construction industry exploit the latest developments in Information Technology (IT). As IT has advanced, other industries have exploited it to achieve rapid improvements in productivity. The construction industry is now positioned to take advantage of the lessons learnt.;This text draws together opportunities for the improved use of technology and a vision for the future. Key tasks to achieve implementation of the report's recommendations are identified. The report offers a framework to enable the co-ordinated collaboration of Government, research, industry and clients in developing and applying IT applications to a very complex industry.
