Mark Perlman was the founding editor of the Journal of Economic Literature and responsible for issues from 1969 until 1980 when he retired. His extraordinarily significant contribution to economics has been recognized by Economists worldwide and in 2000 the History of Economics Society made him their Distinguished Fellow.
