Publisher's Synopsis

Drama based on the horrific events that took place in Lidice under the Nazi regime during the Second World War. In the village of Lidice, Frantisek Sima (Karel Roden) accidentally kills his own son in a drunken argument and is sentenced to prison. While he is in jail SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich is assassinated by two soldiers of the Czechoslovakian army and, after failing to find the culprits, the Nazis decide to make a scapegoat out of Lidice. Over 300 people, many of whom are children, are massacred. Having not heard from the rest of his family, Sima believes they have been unable to forgive him for his actions but in time he discovers the real reason for their silence.
