She employs one of the occupants of the inn, Morgan Meredith, to do some carpentry and odd jobs. As she gets to know Morgan, she discovers that he is harboring a dangerous secret. His secret becomes more threatening as he becomes engaged to Grace's best friend, Ellen. Then, in one whirling night, Morgan and Grace lose everything.
