Publisher's Synopsis
Documentary about Geoffrey Chaucer and the collection of stories he wrote in the late 14th century. Chaucer lived during a difficult period in history which saw a war of conquest, a revolutionary uprising and the Black Death. Not only a writer, in his time Chaucer also worked as a solider, a spy, a civil servant and a courtier. The programme also includes an interview with film maker, actor and historian Terry Jones, in which he gives his opinion on Chaucer and the society he lived in.
