Melissa Morales, former beauty queen from Venezuela, arrives to a scorching hot California. With her she is bringing something utterly devastating. Soon humans and animals in her vicinity begin to behave strangely and out of control. John Buck - a dissolute door-to-door salesman with a well lubricated mouth - and Melissa, cross each other's path.
