Why would you bother to read a book about a tiny creature which is not even visible to the naked eye? Whether you like it or not, it has become a life time partner for the majority of the planet's house dwelling population and its life is intimately linked with ours. If we think of our dwelling as a nest then we share it with this tiny partner and it relies on us for its food, shelter, warmth and 'drink'. If we consider that some estimates reckon that the house dust mite has been active on earth for around 20 million years, then it would not be unreasonable to consider the human race as a much more recent species which is being used by the mite. This book aims to introduce our guest, the House Dust Mite and describe in simple terms its lifestyle, preferences, dietary and toilet habits but most importantly what this all means for us as its host
