In a dark Roman antique shop, violinist Julia Ansdell comes across a strange musical piece called Fire, which captivates her immediately. She wants to master the complex composition and introduce it to the world. Once back in Boston, strange things begin to happen once she starts practicing it. Inexplicably, the music has a terrifying effect on her three-year-old daughter. Julia is convinced that the notes produce an evil spell and she wants to find out who composed it. Her search takes her to Venice, where she discovers the dark secret of one family who will stop at nothing to make sure the truth never comes out.
