Publisher's Synopsis

This CD-ROM is intended to be of use to scholars working in the fields of classical, medieval and renaissance studies. Although each volume of the printed edition was accompanied by a non-cumulative index of names, the sheer mass of information - 4000 pages in small print, containing about 22 million characters - made the "Iter Italicum" difficult to use. This version on CD-ROM is designed to provide full and easy access to the work. The data contained on the CD-ROM is the same as the printed version, but any combination of data present in the printed version can now be found and examined with ease.;The CD-ROM contains both Windows and MS-DOS programs for accessing the material. The MS-DOS version requires a PC with at least a 286 processor and working under MS-DOS 3.0 or higher. The Windows version will run on any PC working under Windows. An extensive manual is also included.
