It's Arts Play is a professional and practical resource that focuses on engaging young children with the creative arts (visual art, music, dance, drama and media). The arts are the basis of making meaning of the world (thinking, learning, knowing) and communicating this to others, which is the foundation of all learning. Using the play-based approach to learning within the context of the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum. This text assists pre-service and novice educators with practical guidance to pedagogy, planning, monitoring, documenting and assessing learning. Contributions by First Nations Elders, educators and artists engage readers and encourage the development of inclusive learning environments as well as ideas about varied approaches to learning and developing the whole child.
