Publisher's Synopsis

Dear Reader,

Thank you for choosing my Poetry Anthology, "KALEIDOSCOPE". I hope you will enjoy at least some part of the variety of work included there.

My life's work has been in Education, and I have successfully pursued a long academic career, as both a teacher and a head-teacher.

The 'Northumbrian' pieces, which form part of this anthology, resonate strongly with my own Northumbrian roots.

I was born, and educated in the ancient, beautiful Cathedral city of Durham, where I was a student of, 'Durham Girls' Grammar School', and later of 'Durham University.' Although I have lived and worked for many years in the Southeast of England, at heart I count myself... A Northern Writer, and remain a loyal, 'Northern lass.' My enduring love of my home region, with its colourful dialects, ancient history, and magnificent scenery; as well as for the beauty of the English Language itself, all continue to provide main spring inspirations for my writing, and other creative interests.

Within the scope of my writing, I include a variety of genres, including Biography (under a pen name); Short Stories; Poetry; Plays; and Fiction for both Young Adults, and Adults.

For anyone who may be interested, TWO of the narrative pieces included in "KALEIDOSCOPE", are available under my name, via the Internet, as recorded presentations. Viz: "A Fireside Tale," and "Witness for The Defence."
