The "Longman Photo Dictionary" is a bi-lingual American English/Japanese dictionary. These three cassettes accompany the dictionary. The dictionary presents photographs which depict each word. It overs over 2000 words and more than 80 semantic categories. Everyday vocabulary is presented - from eating in a fast food restaurant to going to the bank, the post office or the doctor's office. The photographs should stimulate conversation in the classroom. Mini-practices for each topic guide students in describing the scenes and relating the vocabulary to their lives. There are also classroom activities from listening, writing and grammar practice to storytelling, debates and cross-cultural discussions.
