Publisher's Synopsis
I hope that you will understand that what you hold was not really written for you, even though it is directed at you. Because I write to understand the situation I feel that perhaps the normal conventions and constraints do not apply. I am aware however, that what I write has at least an audience of sorts in that everything that leaves my head and feeds my hand does so with the knowledge that all of my correspondence is read. The whole question of those who have committed crimes putting pen to paper, either to exonerate themselves or to claim some universality for their potentially unique aberrations, is of no interest to me. Writing, far more than speaking is self-understanding, perhaps all writing is psychotherapy, the pen is the master inquisitor seemingly giving nothing away but actually indicting itself in every considered omission.
