Publisher's Synopsis
The involvement of prolactin in human reproductive functions has been widely recognized, however the biological mechanism by which it interferes with particular stages of the reproductive process remains controversial. Based on the presentations made at the Second Tokyo Conference on Reproductive Physiology, this collection of papers features the results of extensive experimental and clinical studies which elucidate the complex role of this hormone. The investigations focus specifically on prolactin's role in the early stages of the reproductive process - from ovulation to implantation.
