Thank you for this opportunity to present myself, and give you a brief summary of my background and qualifications. I am honored that President Clinton has nominated me for the position of Assist ant Administrator for Research and Development, of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
I sincerely believe that this position is one of the most important relative to our country's goal of protecting its citizens and the nat ural environment. Therefore, I realize the awesome responsibility associated with the title, Assistant Administrator for Research and Development, and I am willing to accept it.
