Publisher's Synopsis
The tale of two children, Elizabeth and Thomas, left at the mercy of their mother's sister, Maria, as their father has passed from the plague and their mother lies ill. Maria and her husband, Earl Morgan, live in a very old castle where the tower is said to be haunted. When the couple agrees to take the children in and teach them each a trade, Thomas is sent to work with Rainwick at his apothecary. The apothecary lies right next to the tower and both Rainwick and Thomas are eager to discover the hidden secrets of the mysterious and haunted tower.
