Luke Faremont is having a very hard year.
I mean, it sucks to be twenty, right? You're up against student loans, family tragedy, and demons from a parallel dimension that want to eat you alive.
Luke has just learned that magic is real, that he can do it, and that everything that goes bump in the night is ready to kill him for it.
Luckily, he isn't alone. He's got a mortal roommate, a pyrokinetic co-worker with a short fuse, and an enigmatic wizard who's willing to show him the ropes... In exchange for a little manual labor. While Luke works in his teacher's bookstore, he learns to protect himself with the arts arcane and strong customer service skills.
When a supernatural storm threatens to flood the store, Luke and our assortment of magical misfits must rally together to stop it before mold eats through all the inventory. In the process, they uncover a plot of monsters, human sacrifice, and a dark wizard's crusade against the shadow that threatens all of creation.
