Publisher's Synopsis
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association brought together parliamentarians to assess the functioning of committees. The aim was to recommend ways in which strengthening committee systems can enhance the performance and public perception of Parliaments and parliamentarians. Contributors from the wide range of Parliaments that form the Commonwealth of Nations combined to produce a rich and diverse set of opinions and recommendations that will prove of interest to practitioners working within the political arena as well as to students of politics.
