Publisher's Synopsis

Kera is a little girl about to start her first day at school. After returning home that day, she was sad. After her family inquiries into the reason behind her being sad, she shares with them that it was because she looked different from the other children and that no one would play with her. Her grandmother assures her that it is all right being different and gives her a princess pirate doll. She also tells the little girl to let the others get to know her first. Later that day, Kera sets out on an adventure and finds children who all look different. Along the way, she makes friends and begins to realize that differences are not to be sad about but celebrated. We live in a world where others think and feel like us but only look different. As the story progresses, Kera finds herself on a pirate ship with other children dressed as pirates.
