This text provides an introduction to quantitative analysis using the Lotus spreadsheet as its communicative medium. The author supplies instruction in the required Lotus commands and applies them to the topics that normally constitute introductory quantitative business methods. In particular, there is extended discussion of financial mathematics and linear programming, and the general algebraic properties of the spreadsheet are stressed throughout the text. Students with limited quantitative background will find that the spreadsheet framework encourages them to adopt a rigorous attitude to problems that would otherwise require formal mathematics. Formal mathematics and statistics are included, but only within the spreadsheet environment.
