Publisher's Synopsis
The proceedings contains a set of lecture notes based on talks delivered at the Symposium. The lectures dealt with four topics: many-body theory of the electron gas; many-body theory applied to semiconductors; strongly correlated electronic systems; and classical liquids. The basic idea was to present the state of the art in various closely related areas of many-body physics at an entry level. The lectures were of general character yet a particular emphasis was put on exemplifying with practical examples the various applications of the formalism.
