Publisher's Synopsis
Jairus, the Son of Onias, is a tax collector by day and a thief by night. His daytime job has made him hated among his people because of his zeal for getting everything he can out of them. His secret job in the evening has made him the town of Nobas best-kept secret. Love for a woman he dreams of having as his wife steers him to a passionate battle within himself. After getting caught stealing from a Roman Centurion, he is made a personal slave. The same Roman killed his two brothers when he was a young boy. Hatred ensues, followed by imprisonment and crucifixion, but divine intervention sends these two men on a journey that will lead them to everlasting life.
