Returning to Work Directory of Education and Training Opportunities for Women

This is a guide to 1400 educational and vocational training courses available throughout England and Wales for women returning to work after time off to raise a family or to care for an elderly relative. The courses have been chosen for their suitability to women with families or young children.;The contents include information on what courses are run, where they are, their cost, what entry qualifications are needed, how credits can be built up (course transfer, for example), availability of creche and childcare facilities, a contact who can provide detailed advice and help, and advice on how applicants can get sponsorship and grant funding.;There are also lists of additional, useful publications for reference, an index of colleges and institutions, and a subject index.;The Women Returners' Network promotes educational, training and employment opportunities for women returners and has representatives from Adult, Further and Higher Education, the Open University, Careers Advisory services, the WEA, the DES, the Women's National Commission, the EOC, the Industrial Society, the EITB, industry and commerce.
