In 2010, the David's life changed forever when he was struck by a teenage driver while cycling in his hometown. The resulting traumatic brain injury led him to chronicle his journey as a survivor, resulting in a collection of written pieces that offer an insider's perspective on life after TBI. Divided into three segments - Learning to Crawl, Learning to Walk, and Learning to Soar - the essays depict the early struggles, the progress made, and the realization that a meaningful life is possible after a brain injury.
