Publisher's Synopsis

SPOKEN represents a collection of experiences of a young male urban minority navigating the social, mental, and spiritual transitions of adolescence into young adulthood. Dubosse's collection of poems traverses developmental areas like identity, romance, passions, disappointments, failures and faith. An implicit account of his maturation experiences, SPOKEN is a reflective work contemplating lifestyle, deliberating choices, and wrestles with the definition of self against the obligations of New York City culture and society. Dubosse's first work is a return to English as a Language Art filled with a plethora of metaphor, analogy, alliteration, meter, and a number of other literary devices that sew humanness into sentences and spring empathy from its pages affording readers a smorgasbord of lingual delights. At Xaverian High School, Richard learned to expand his ability beyond poetry into fiction and other genre. It was during this his tenure there that he first began construction of SPOKEN: Into Existence. The creative work is the first of two books to be compiled over the next decade encompassing infused with this authors personal journey through limitations, loves, and life.
