Publisher's Synopsis
Award-winning British drama based on the biography by Alexander Masters. The story revolves around reclusive author, Alexander (Benedict Cumberbatch), and homeless alcoholic, Stuart (Tom Hardy), who become friends when they meet during a campaign to release two charity workers from prison. As Stuart tells Alexander about his traumatic life, Alexander asks Stuart if he can write his story. Stuart agrees but suggests that Alexander write the story in reverse, so that it's 'more exciting'. As their remarkable friendship develops, Stuart gradually begins to recount his life backwards.
