This course in speaking has been designed to prepare students who have little or no speaking practice to interact in English in basic conversations and task-based exercises. "Talking Topics" provides: practice in talking about everyday topics; controlled vocabulary and grammar focus; clear model dialogues; pronunciation and intonation work; strategy "hints" to help continue conversations; communicative pair work based on information gaps; and follow-up speaking games.;Every lesson utilizes a basic two-step method of whole class practice, followed by pair practice.
