Publisher's Synopsis

Dr. Edward Trimis is a highly sought-after presenter of local, statewide, and national education conferences. His 40-year career in Los Angeles schools has ranged from the blackboard to administrative and consultant positions, and his light-hearted tales of school and family stories create the tapestry for which the book is named.

Trimis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where his father was director of Community Development at the American Farm School. The family returned to the States when Trimis was a toddler, and he lived mostly in northern California until moving to the Los Angeles area for college. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Masters' degrees in Music Education and Educational Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, and an EdD from the University of Southern California.

He has held teaching and administrative positions in Los Angeles at all levels and has been responsible for many reforms and innovative music and arts programs in the district. As well as his full-time responsibilities, he has been an adjunct professor at colleges and universities including USC and Pasadena City College. He frequently serves the Western Association of Schools and Colleges as a visiting team chair. He is artistic director and conductor of the Torrance Civic Chorale.
