Publisher's Synopsis

Nolambavadi is the historical regional name of territories controlled by the Nolomba dynasty from the late eight to early 11th centuries. The region has temple architecture and sculpture that warrant inclusion in art historical accounts but have received scant attention. This study fills the gap and offers the first comprehensive analysis of monuments built during the Nolomba period. This study provide a summary of the political history of the area and analyses in detail central, easter and southern Nolambavadi monuments.
