Hon. Isaac N. Arnold, president, presided, and Albert D. Hager was secretary.

The Librarian reported the receipt of a number of vol umes, pamphlets, maps, and autograph letters from Messrs. Mark Skinner, William Blair, Albert A. Munger, John R. Walsh, and Daniel Goodwin, Jr.

Hon. John Wentworth reported a memorial of the life of James Sears Waterman, a member of the Society, lately deceased at Sycamore, Illinois.

The Secretary then read the foregoing memorial tablet, which was printed on parchment, with the original signa tures of the donors, and handsomely framed and suspended on the wall.
