Publisher's Synopsis
When her husband is killed suddenly, Suhad is presented with unexpected freedom and funds previously inaccessible to her. A chance visit of violin student Hallema ignites her interest in music and spurs her to set up the Watar Institute for aspiring musicians. Little does she envisage the can of worms that will be opened with the complex lives of the students and lecturers recruited by her venture. In a male-dominated society where a mixed institution is not universally approved, the sexual irregularities of many participants in the drama are laid bare. In an environment fuelled by terrorist outrages and simmering inter-clan hostility, the atmosphere is about to turn particularly ugly for Suhad and her project. Especially as apparently well-meaning neighbors are ready to exploit any hint of weakness.
