This study sets out the findings of the United Kingdom Impact Study (UKIMPACT). The aim of the study was to assess the effects of the European Community's policies for research and technological development (RTD) on science and technology in the United Kingdom. The findings are primarily based on 949 responses to a postal survey of participants in Framework Projects, interviews with participating and non-participating orgarnizations and with policymakers, and statistical information.
