"Reflections" is part of three a three-level programme (The Macmillan Short Course Programme) which has been written especially for learners coming to Britain to learn English. The three levels are: Impressions, Observations and Reflections. This programme draws on the local environment and encourages the learners to develop their language skills through observation and discussion of the things in the everyday life around them, relating these to their own cultures, and reflecting on similarities and differences.;Designed specifically for use in an English-speaking environment, this material has been piloted in a range of language institutes.;Each level aims to deepen students' understanding of, and involvement with, British culture as it is conveyed through the English language.;The cassettes feature a variety of native and non-native speaker's accents, tones and registers and the aim is to provide the student with authentic and semi-authentic listening practice.
