Publisher's Synopsis
A historical account of the Raynor family of Beaver Dam Creek. The author traces her family's immigration from 17th century England through 11 generations on Eastern Long Island. They were among the earliest settlers of what became Westhampton. She records a simpler hard working way of life of past generations using photos, letters and records. It is a nostalgic tribute to the vanishing life of bay men. Only the family fishhouse, the center of the commercial fishing, remains. It is now recognized as a historical landmark.
