One day, little Grey Rabbit bumps into Brush, the wandering hedgehog, who travels up and down the country like a gypsy. He tells her stories and asks for a winter coat in exchange.
Of course, Hare doesn't want to give his coat to an old ragamuffin, but after a chat with Brush and a smoke of his wonderful pipe, he decides he's not such a bad fellow.Squirrel too finds the Hedgehog's simple ways charming, and the three friends collect scraps of material to make him fine new patchwork coat.
So he may not have a penny, or a shoe, but the wandering hedgehog has a coat worthy of the Emperor of China - and some new friends!
